All of us here at the Underground Circus would like to thank the Artists & Audience that made Quirques 4 such a wonderful evening. It takes two days to transform the studio into theatre mode, and two months of planning and collaborating with the performers to create the show. There were performers from all around the lower mainland, and a contingent from Vancouver Island as well.

The enthusiasm and engagement of the audience was heart warming. I’m (Peter) occasionally cynical about Vancouver audiences, and I was put to shame by how warm and connected the evening felt. Ninon and I loved the vibe created by the openness and eagerness of everyone who came out. The new layout helped, the guests were less cramped, and closer to the entire show.

Ninon made a great spread of finger food - it’s our tradition at Quirques to have free food to encourage socializing. There was melted brie with sun-dried tomatoes, gluten-free bagels & baguettes, bison pepperoni, avocados, olives, organic gummy bears - and the rest was eaten before I saw it.

Thank you to Leyna Shnier, who took on the task of reaching out to connect to the artists, and helped with setting up the studio and much of the organization. There were many others who volunteered: Leslie Adamson, John Nightingale, Max Sample, Jackie Abremski, Sidonie helping with tech, as well as others who pitched in during the evening.

And a HUGE thank you to the performers, you are what the evening was all about. We ask everyone to check out their social media pages, encourage experimentation in circus and performance art, and to continue to support live performances in Vancouver.
