Multiple silks Rope loop Skyladder 2 on 1 silks Cerceau Triceau
Aerial silks can also be performed as a solo, a duet, or a trio
Rock and Roll and women on metal. Performed on an aerial structure created by Peter Boulanger, this is the high energy, in-your-face act of Cirque Phoenix. Intricate choreagraphy and spectacular moves define this act.
Cerceau is a simple three foot diameter steel ring with infinite possibilities. It's usually hung on a system that allows it te be raised and lowered in the air. Flexibility and strength are common elements on cerceau. It's vunerability adds to it's appeal - There is nothing between the performer and the ground except air.
A rope is hung in a sigle loop. The performer wraps herself around the rope, twisting inside, creating knots with hersef and her apperatus, until she takes one final turn, and drops six feet to catch on one knee.
The newest creation of Peter Boulanger, Skyladder is a delicate looking collection of bars and wires, reaching up to 32 feet in length, and hung from up to 40 feet high. The acrobats move up and down the entire length of the structure, using both wires and bars and each other to influence their movement. Skyladder can be performed as a solo structure, or as two separate structures performed simultaneously.
Two performers on one set of fabric, climbing over and around each other. At some points, one woman is hanging just off the other, not touching the silks. This act combines the beauty of silks with the power of double trapeze.
Aerial silks is an exciting and sensuous act, a product of the new age of circus, performed as high as the venue allows, with the entire length of the fabric used as the stage. Feats of strength, graceful figures and breath taking tumbles are executed by intertwining body and fabric.
